This hilly island offers several gorgeous white sand beaches and some of the best walking tracks in Fiji, with spectacular panoramas and coastal views over neighbouring islands such as the towering peaks of Mount Nalauwaki and Mount Batinareba, pretty Yalobi Bay and the nearby islands of Waya Lailai and Kuata.
Sunbathe on the white-sand beach, stroll around Likuliku Bay, explore the scenic interior and visit traditional Fijian villages, such as nearby Naulawaki village where you can watch a meke (cultural show) and buy native arts and crafts.
Or go island hopping to the beautiful island of Naukacuvu and swim with manta ray's in season. Waya Island is the largest island in the Yasawa Islands group.
Nearby reefs offer excellent snorkelling and scuba diving with a choice of several great dive sites less than five minutes from the Octopus Resort in Likuliku Bay. For a great drift dive head to Black Rock at North Point to see Gorgonian Sea fans, multi-colored soft coral, schools of banner fish, eagle rays and colourful reef fish.
South Sea Cruises offer a fast, 150 seat, split deck air-conditioned catamarans. Cruising time is approximately one hour from Denarau Marina, Nadi. Both Vuda and Denarau marinas are a 20 minutes drive from Nadi Airport. The island is also accessible on the Yasawa Flyer, which serves the whole Yasawa Island chain.
Waya Island is serviced daily by Octopus Resort's own vessel. Cruising time is approximately one hour from Vuda Marina.
Amphibious floatplanes and helicopters depart Nadi International Airport and from other locations by prior arrangement. Flight time to Waya Island is less than ten minutes from Nadi.
Waya Island is located in the Yasawa chain of islands, around 27km situated north-west of the main island of Vitu Levu.

The best months to honeymoon in Waya Island, Fiji are the dry season months between May and October, when the weather is generally dry and sunny with temperatures averaging a high of 28°C (82°F).
The wet season is characterised by brief but heavy showers from November to April with temperatures ranging from 22°C to 31°C.

The most convenient route to Fiji is by air to Nadi International Airport (NAN), located on the west coast of Viti Levu, about 10km (7mi) north of Nadi, and about 190km (120mi) northwest of Fiji's capital, Suva.
An alternative airport is Nausori International Airport (SUV), also known as Luvuluvu, located 23km (14mi) northeast of Suva. Nausori Airport mainly services domestic interisland flights but also receives direct flights from Auckland, NZ and Sydney, Australia.
Fiji is located in the South Pacific, around 3000km (1864mi) east of Australia and around 2000km (1300mi) northeast of New Zealand's North Island.
