The best time to visit Elba for a beach holiday is from July through August.

However, to avoid the peak season crowds and high prices of July and August, anytime from May through June, and September is also good for a range of outdoor activities.

Elba (or Isola d'Elba) – the largest island of the Tuscan Archipelago – is located 10km (6mi) from the coastal town of Piombino on the Italian mainland. The main town of Portoferraio is located on the north coast.

Winter, from December to February, is mild to cold with frequent rainfall and wind.
