Holiday seasons

High season: From February to August.

Tip – Time your visit to Hoi An for the Full Moon festival – 14th day of the lunar year each month – when the town becomes a stage for traditional songs, dancing, games and food. A lantern procession makes its way through the Old Town and along the riverfront.

Note: Avoid travel during Tet (Vietnamese New Year). The country’s biggest festival is held in late-January and early-February, when the Vietnamese return to their ancestral family home. Transport and hotels are completely booked and the roadways are crammed with traffic. Most businesses close down.
