Holiday seasons

High season: High season runs from November to mid-March, with the peak season lasting from around 23rd December to 7th January.

During the Christmas and New Year holidays, thousands of visitors descend to the beach resort. The cost of beachside accommodation often doubles or triples, bars and restaurants are filled to capacity and traffic jams the streets.

Low season: For the best value visit during the post-monsoon season from mid-March through May and in October when prices are reasonable and crowds acceptable.
