Nacula Island Honeymoon Guide

At around 10km-long, Nacula is the third largest island in the Yasawas and offers several pleasant walking tracks that meander over grassy hills leading to four Fijian villages and several unspoiled beaches along the southern coast.

Sunbathe on the idyllic white-sand beach that fronts the Oarsman's Bay Lodge, swim in the shallow lagoon or hike to the 258m-high Mount Korobeka for panoramic views over the island.

Where to stay

For honeymoon couples on a budget, the Oarsman's Bay Lodge offers a no-frills resort in an idyllic location.

Six individual bures offer double beds, porches with hammocks and chairs, screened louvered windows and bathrooms with solar-heated showers.

Facilities include restaurant, bar and watersports equipment rentals. The resort is located at the southern end of the island.

Best time to honeymoon in Fiji

The best time to visit Fiji is during the dry winter season from June to September, when the weather is mainly dry and sunny – temperatures average a high of 28°C (82°F) but can range from a low of 18°C (64°F) to a peak of 32°C (90°F).

The seasonal transitional months of May and October can also be a good time to visit.

Fiji enjoys a tropical maritime climate without great extremes of heat or cold.

Typically, you can expect brief late afternoon rain showers at any time of year, with most rainfall in the mountainous regions of the main islands mainly away from coastal regions and the smaller islands.

The Mamanuca and Yasawa island groups receive the least amount of rainfall among the Fijian islands.
