Savour an idyllic, tropical island honeymoon on this privately owned island.
With no villages, roads or cars you’re free to wander a network of forest tracks past colourful wild orchids, frangipani, hibiscus and Pacific almond trees to a choice of stunning, palm-fringed white-sand beaches that ring the edges of an extinct volcano.
Picnic on the perfect crescent of white sand fringing Horseshoe Bay, sunbathe on the gorgeous beach that fronts Matangi Island Resort or choose to swim and snorkel from several other beautiful beaches.
Unwind beneath the trunks of huge palm trees that grow parallel to the beach before stretching out over the crystal clear aquamarine waters that surrounds this tranquil horseshoe-shaped island.
Relax in the 4.5-star Matangi Island Resort, one of Fiji’s best adults-only resorts.
Honeymoon couples can choose from two romantic cliff-side bures and one set 6m-high in a shady Pacific almond tree facing a stunning blue bay. Facilities include restaurant, bar, laundry service, massage, room service, spa, Wi-Fi (near office) and various water sports.
As well as scuba diving and snorkelling, this pristine private island offers hiking, kayaking, bird-watching, sailing, windsurfing and game fishing.
Matangi Island is located just off Qamea Island and is just a 20-minute boat ride from Taveuni Island.
Taveuni is Fiji’s third largest island at just 40km long and less than 10km wide, and is situated just 6.5km off the southeast coast of Vanua Levu.
Matangi Island is serviced by pre-arranged fast launch from the Matangi Island Resort. Taveuni Island is a 60-minutes flight from Suva or 90 minutes from Nadi, on Fiji’s main island of Viti Levu.
The most convenient route to Fiji is by air to Nadi International Airport (NAN), located on the west coast of Viti Levu, about 10km (7mi) north of Nadi, and about 190km (120mi) northwest of Fiji's capital, Suva.
