The best time to visit Fiji is during the dry winter season from June to September, when the weather is mainly dry and sunny – temperatures average a high of 28°C (82°F) but can range from a low of 18°C (64°F) to a peak of 32°C (90°F).
The seasonal transitional months of May and October can also be a good time to visit.
Fiji enjoys a tropical maritime climate without great extremes of heat or cold.
Typically, you can expect brief late afternoon rain showers at any time of year, with most rainfall in the mountainous regions of the main islands mainly away from coastal regions and the smaller islands.
The Mamanuca and Yasawa island groups receive the least amount of rainfall among the Fijian islands.

Fiji is located in the South Pacific, around 3000km (1864mi) east of Australia and around 2000km (1300mi) northeast of New Zealand's North Island.
Fiji comprises an archipelago of more than 330 islands, of which 110 are permanently inhabited. Viti Levu, home to the capital, Suva, and Vanua Levu are the largest islands.
The most convenient route to Fiji is by air to Nadi International Airport (NAN), located on the west coast of Viti Levu, about 10km (7mi) north of Nadi, and about 190km (120mi) northwest of Fiji's capital, Suva.
An alternative airport is Nausori International Airport (SUV), also known as Luvuluvu, located 23km (14mi) northeast of Suva. Nausori Airport mainly services domestic interisland flights but also receives direct flights from Auckland, NZ and Sydney, Australia.
